Edinburgh

We made a trip to Edinburgh, Scotland this past Wednesday and Thursday. B was attending a workshop so we made a mini-trip out of it. Its amazing that an hour and a half train ride takes us to Scotland. So crazy! We still aren't able to have wireless at home, but we can go to Scotland:) Not complaining...
It was sosososo beautiful. The weather was horrible, monsoon-like, but we still loved it! We arrived around noon on Wednesday, grabbed lunch at a place called "Howie's"--delicious! We dropped our stuff at the hotel (bought an umbrella), and then just took off walking and looking. We journeyed up to the Edinburgh Castle, down the Royal Mile which leads to the palace of Mary Queen of Scots. We visited Grassmarket, which is the old site of public executions. The raised platform is still there with a list of names of the executed (moment of silence). The pubs in the area, of course, play on this historical fact, so we drank a pint at "The Last Drop". The next day, we went to the National Museum of Scotland, it was extremely comprehensive and interesting! Then, onto the workshop and out for a curry with a colleague. We definitely cannot wait to go back!
