My mate Andrew rolled up to Toon Town after completing a work stint in London. Yesterday's day trip was to Tynemouth [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tynemouth], an adorable little coastal resort town that's only a short subway rideto where the river Tyne (which cuts through Newcastle, hence the full name of the city, Newcastle upon Tyne) meets the North Sea. A castle and priory overlooks the coast, just next to a set of long piers that guards where the river meets the sea. Absolutely beautiful. As we walked down the pier, grey clouds followed us and made the North Sea more agitated and violent around us. It was an amazing convergence of history, nature, scenery, and good company. It felt very English. ;)
